The Secret hidden in the Bible Story of Joseph

I made known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. Isa. 46:10

Joseph Makes Himself Known to His Brothers Genesis 45:1-15

Among the Jews there is a Rabbinic tradition dating back thousands of years that the ancient scriptures foretells not one Messiah but two. One Messiah would follow the other. The first Messiah would be known as Messiah ben Joseph. He would come into the world as a suffering Messiah. The name Joseph means “a double fruitfulness,” further implying there will be another.

The second Messiah would be known as Messiah ben David. We would come as a reigning King.

This first Messiah’s life would mirror in many ways Jacob’s son Joseph born of Rachel, from whom the name Messiah ben (son of) Joseph comes. Let’s take a closer look point by point at the life of Joseph to see a picture of what Messiah ben Joseph will look like.

1) Joseph was born when God opened his barren mother’s womb.

2) Joseph was greatly loved by his father.

3) He had older brothers.

4) Though a younger brother, Joesph was to receive the double portion gift of the first born from his father Jacob due to the sins and unworthiness of his older brothers.

5) The Bible does not record one sin of Joseph.

6) He worked as a Sheppard of his father’s sheep.

7) He had a dream that he would be exalted over his brothers and they would bow down to him.

8) He is hated and rejected by his brothers when he tells them his dream; though we learn later in the story that Joseph is simply revealing his true identity and foretelling future events.

9) The root of the brother’s hatred for Joseph is jealousy and envy of their father’s special love for him and the gift given by his father to him. (Joseph’s colorful coat is an icon for this special affection)

10) Joseph is sent out alone to his brothers who are tending the father’s sheep.

11) Joseph is seized by his brothers.

12) They mocked him.

13) They strip him of his colorful robe.

14) They put him into a pit in the earth, (pit is a type of hell) without life sustaining water, for a period of time while they decide what to do with him.

15) Joseph is betrayed by Judah who suggests Joseph be sold to the Ismalite slave traders.

16) Joseph was sold to the Ishmaelites by his brother Judah for a few pieces of silver.

17) His robe was dipped in blood before it was taken to the father and a selfish deception was contrived about Joseph’s death by his brothers.

18) Joseph was effectively dead to his brothers when they sold him into slavery and they referred to him as “no more.”

19) In reality, Joseph was being sent ahead or commissioned by God the Father to prepare the way for his brothers and their families in Egypt.

20) Joseph was tempted by Potiphar’s wife, but resisted the adulterous act and sexual impurity.

21) Joseph was falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife, but he offered not a word in his own defense.

22) Joseph went to jail to live among lawbreakers

23) Joseph suffered at the hands of the gentile Egyptians who put his feet in shackles and neck in irons. Psa. 105:18

24) Joseph was imprisoned, but he had earlier won Potiphar’s respect as a righteous man and knew Joseph was not guilty of the charge of attempted rape, but to save face before his household and Pharaoh’s court, he imprisons Joseph. Later we see that he puts Joseph in charge of the King’s prisoners.

25) While in prison Joseph meets two servants, the chief cupbearner and the chief baker of the King. Both had received the same sentence.

26) Joseph proves to them he hears from God and performs the miraculous by interpreting their dreams precisely.

27) The chief cupbearer whose job is to drink the cup before Pharaoh to make sure the drink is not poisoned. Joseph interprets he will be restored to his position with the King and asks him not to forget him and speak to Pharaoh for him when he is restored to his place in the Kingdom.

28) Joseph interprets one of the prisoners (the cupbearer) will be saved and the other (the baker) will perish.

29) Joseph interprets Pharaoh’s dream and provides good counsel for taking advantage of the knowledge provided in the dream, proving to Pharaoh that Joseph was filled with the spirit of God.

30) Joseph foretells there will be seven years of plenty

31) Joseph warns of seven years of famine. He warns them to prepare during the times of plenty.

32) Joseph is humble and gives all the credit for the interpretation to God.

33) After interpreting Pharaoh’s dream, Joseph is elevated and exalted to the right hand of the King.

34) Pharaoh gave Joseph a new name Zaphnath-Paaneah. This name means revealer of mysteries and God lives.

35) Joseph was known in Egypt as a wonderful counselor.

36) Joseph became the principal distributor of bread to the perishing world.

37) All of Egypt are to bend the knee upon the sight of Joseph. And so did all others who traveled into Egypt.

38) Joseph became humble through all he endured and became the chief minister in all of Egypt at age thirty.

39) Joseph was given a gentile bride.

40) Part of his ministry was to provide food for the hungry and to bless all people.

41) Joseph’s gifts and talents were for the purpose of blessing his brothers, but were used to bless and benefit the Egyptian (Gentiles) first. Later he became a great blessing to his brothers and the savior of his whole family.

42) Joseph’s life was sacrificed so that he could make a way for the plans of God.

43) As his dream foretold, Joseph prepared for 7 years of hardship and famine. It was through this period of hardship that his brothers were desperate to the point of humbling themselves and coming to recognize their brother for who he was, the one who they would bow to.

44) During Joseph reign as Governor, Joseph orchestrated things in such a way that all people in the land sold all livestock and land and everything they had to the King (Pharaoh) and all people became a servant to the King.

45) Joseph’s brothers were driven from their promised land of Israel shortly after their rejection of Joseph to live many years in a foreign land. (Approximately 13-15 after the rejection of Joseph, Israel was driven from the land and stayed in the foreign land (Egypt) somewhere between 215 and 400 years.)

46) At first Joseph’s brothers didn’t recognize Him. He looked different than what he did before. The truth of who He was was hidden from them.

47) Joseph, in all his glory, deals roughly with his brothers to further soften them and test their hearts to see if they have changed before he reveals his true identity.

48) Joseph gives his prerequisite for his brothers being able to see his face. They must bring their half brother Benjamin with them. (Different mother but the same father)

49) Joseph seeks a confession from his brothers. Is their father still alive?

50) Simeon is taken captive by Joseph as a ransom for bringing Benjamin to him. Simeon means “To Hear” so to take Simeon is to take away their ability to hear or perceive, just as they did not perceive Joseph’s true identity.

51) The brothers see the hand of God in their suffering. They said to one another, “Surely we are being punished because of our brother. We saw how distressed he was when he pleaded with us for his life, but we would not listen; that’s why this distress has come upon us.” {22} Reuben replied, “Didn’t I tell you not to sin against the boy? But you wouldn’t listen! Now we must give an accounting for his blood.

52) Joseph continues to test his brother’s hearts to see if they have changed. The primary action he watches for is how they respond to their brother Benjamin. Benjamin is a type of Joseph, born of Rachel, and favored by their father. Though Benjamin was the last, the youngest, he was the first born son of a converted Israel. All the other sons had been the sons of Jacob. Once Joseph sees their distress over the fate of Benjamin, he knows they have changed and he trusts their repentance.

53) Once Joseph hands down the sentence to Benjamin for stealing His cup, Judah finally gets it and steps up and offers to take Benjamin’s place. He realizes they can no longer pretend they are innocent. They are all sinners before God.

54) Judah steps in and offers to take his place.

55) Convinced of their change, Joseph reveals himself and rejoins to his brothers, and as supreme Governor of Egypt he judges his brothers with mercy and compassion and acts of kindness.

56) Joseph helped heal the wounds of his brothers caused by their wickedness and provided for them a means of reconciliation and restoration toward each other and a means of reconciliation and a rightful relationship with their father.

57) Finally, Joseph’s brothers recognized him as their Lord and called themselves his slaves. But Joseph did not want slaves. He wanted brothers. Not only did he not hold anything against them, but he wept when he saw the guilt they bore and carried so long for what they did to him. He didn’t want revenge, but instead showed kindness and love and assured them that he would provide for them.

58) After a few years pass, and their father Jacob dies, doubt concerning the heart of Joseph creeps in and the brothers become afraid that Joseph would exact revenge upon them for what they had done to him. Joseph answered them; You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish… the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.

What a wonderful man was Joseph and it is obvious why many Rabbi’s understood that the first Messiah should look like him.

Why is this so important? There are voices today that say the Messiah no longer has to fulfill the traditional signs that the Rabbi’s of old understood.

It is this mindset that will set Israel and the world up for a great deception. A messiah will appear, but he will be a false messiah. He will be brilliant, polished and persuasive, but he will be a deceiver. It is important for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, to understand this deceiver is coming.

It is most likely that this deceiver will come when the entire world is in turmoil over the events in the middle east and threaten a world war. I imagine that a nuclear bomb has already destroyed an entire large city somewhere in the world, like Damascus or New York or both. Israel will be surrounded by her enemies and even her friends will be intimidated and will go silent in their defense of Israel. It is my guess that it will be this false Messiah who comes in to rescue the day and the world will become like putty in his hands. What he does in the name of security will take away personal freedoms and bring much suffering. Unless you have eyes and ears to see, the whole world will be deceived.

So how do you protect yourself from this great deception? You must know what the true Messiah looks like. So what should Israel know about their Messiah? What did the prophets of old foretell? Beyond this picture of Joseph what are signs should Israel look for? What other clues do scripture give us.

Let’s look at a few other Messianic prophesies.

Daniel provides a countdown to the entrance of Messiah

The countdown is to begin when a decree is made to begin the rebuilding of the Temple and the City of Jerusalem. At the time of this prophesy, Solomon’s Temple and the city had been destroyed and the Jews were in Babylonian captivity. The number of years given to Daniel by the Angel Gabriel was 69 weeks in years or 483 years after this decree to rebuild the Temple is made.

Nehemiah gives us the trigger point for Daniel’s countdown

In Nehemiah 2:1-8 says that in the 12th year of King Artaxerxes gave Nehemiah the decree to begin to build again the walls of the city of Jerusalem. History tells us that was in the year 444 BC. Counting 483 years from that trigger point would indicate that the Messiah is to make his entry somewhere early in the first century of the Common Era prior to the destruction of the Temple in 70CE, which is an important Messianic date.

Daniel foretells both the rebuilding and future destruction of the temple which is a Messianic sign.

Because Daniel predicts the Temple and the city would be rebuilt and that the people of the prince would destroy the city and the temple. We know the temple was built as Daniel prophesied and was destroyed by the Romans in 70CE. The destruction was so complete that it is unclear exactly where the temple stood.

The Messiah must come before the destruction of the Temple

Malachi in 450 BC says there will be a forerunner to the Messiah and the Messiah will come to the Temple. Malachi 3:1 “I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the LORD Almighty.

David, speaking of the coming Messiah says in Psa. 118:26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD. From the house of the LORD we bless you.

The Messiah will have a Virgin Birth –

Isa. 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

The Messiah will be born in Bethlehem

Micah 5:1 (5:2 in English), that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem

More specifically, the Messiah will be born at Migdal Edar

Micah 4:8 “And thou, O tower of the flock, (Migdal Edar) the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.” Thus Micah clearly states that the Messiah would be born at the “tower of the flock” in Bethlehem.

He will be born of the tribe of Judah and of the house of David.

Jeremiah says in 33:14‘Behold, days are coming,’ declares the LORD, ‘when I will fulfill the good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and the house of Judah. 15‘In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch of David to spring forth; and He shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth.

He will speak to the people in parables according to psa. 78

Listen, O my people, to my instruction; Incline you ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old, which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.

According to King David the Gate of Salvation is the Messiah, but he will be rejected.

David in Psalms 118:20 says, This is the gate of the Lord. The righteous will enter through it. I shall give thanks to You, for You have answered me, And you have become my salvation. The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief corner stone. This is the Lord’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes.

He will come riding on a donkey

Zachariah writes about 520 B.C in Zach 9:9 Israel’s King is coming, bringing salvation. He would come Humble and riding on a donkey.

The Messiah will be slaughtered

Isaiah says that Messiah will be accused but will not speak up in his defense. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so He did not open His mouth (Isaiah 53:7).

The Prophet Zachariah says the Messiah would be pierced, but also that those who pierced him will recognize what they have done.

Zach 12:10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

According to Daniel chapter 9 the Messiah will be cut off, which is the term he would have used for killed by a violent death. Isaiah Chapter 53 describes this violent death.

Isaiah implies there will be some who will not believe in the Messiah, but says that those who do will not be shaken. Isa. 28:16 Therefore, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken.

According to the prophet Isaiah, the Messiah will be stumbling Block that both houses of Israel would stumble over

Isa 8: 12 You are not to say, it is a conspiracy! In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy, and you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of it. It is the Lord of hosts whom you should regard as holy. And He shall be your fear, and He shall be your dread. Then He shall become a sanctuary; But to both the houses of Israel, a stone to strike and a rock to stumble over, And a snare and a trap for the inhabitants of Jerusalem. Many will stumble over them, Then they will fall and be broken; They will even be snared and caught.

According to Isaiah, the Messiah will be mutilated, yet his blood would sprinkle many nations. Kings would not object or resist people naming him as their king.

Isa. 52:14 Just as many were astonished at you, My people, so His appearance was marred more than any man And His form more than the sons of men. Thus He will sprinkle many nations. Kings will shut their mouths on account of Him; For what had not been told them they will see, And what they had not heard they will understand.

According to the prophet Zachariah, the Messiah will be struck down and the sheep scattered.

Zach 13:7 says, Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, said the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn my hand on the little ones.

A Warning to Israel

Wake up oh Israel, wake up Judah, do not be deceived by this one to come who some will call the Messiah, but who will not fulfill the Messianic prophesies. He may already be alive and on the earth today. Those deceived Rabbi’s will say that the criteria for the Messiah have changed. That this deceiver is the one. Do not believe them. This Messiah they will follow will bring great suffering on an already disturbed and fearful world. A world this false Messiah will promise to heal and protect. He is a liar and the truth is not in him, for he is a son of the Devil.

The Messiah you await, has already been here. He is the true Messiah ben Joseph who fits all the requirements for the real Messiah.

In the words of Paul Harvey, for the rest of the story read on…

The True Messiah ben Joseph

The one who fits the requirements for the real Messiah

Has there been a man who has come to Israel, who mirrors Joseph. All potential Messiah’s must be measured by this picture of Messiah. Does Yeshua Jesus fit this picture of Joseph.

1) Though not conceived by a barren woman, Yeshua was miraculously born of a virgin as foretold in Isaiah 7:14. In His early life, he was known as Yeshua ben Joseph, for he was the son of a carpenter whose name was Joseph. It was not till much later that many of his followers would call Him Messiah ben Joseph.

2) Yeshua was greatly loved by his heavenly father and at Yeshua baptism in the Jordan by John the Baptist a dove descended upon Yeshua and the heavens opened and the voice of God could be heard saying, “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.”

3) Yeshua is identified by the Pharisee Paul to be the second Adam or the younger brother who is to inherit all due to the unworthiness of his older brothers.

4) Yeshua is called the “Good Sheppard” of his father’s sheep.

5) Like Joseph, Yeshua too resisted sexual impurity, though many women admired and loved him.

6) It is prophesied about Yeshua that every knee, even his Jewish brothers, will bow to him.

7) Yeshua was sent by His father to his brothers who were tending the father’s sheep.

8) Yeshua proves to be a revealer of secrets when he tells the Samaritan woman all about her life though he had never met her and she and the town people proclaim that God lives and that Yeshua is the Messiah.

9) Yeshua gives all the credit for his mighty gifts to Father God.

10) Yeshua prophesies about himself and being exalted over his brothers.

11) Yeshua was hated and rejected when he revealed that he was the Messiah and claimed to be YHVH (Yahweh) himself and was accused of blasphemy.

12) The root of the Jews hatred for Yeshua is jealousy and envy because of his following, His insight, His miraculous abilities, but more importantly the Fathers special love for him. (Matt. 27:18 For he knew it was out of envy that they had handed Jesus over to them.)

13) Yeshua was seized by his Jewish brethren.

14) Yeshua was mocked by his Jewish brothers. John says Yeshua came to his own but his own received him not.

15) Yeshua was betrayed to the Jewish authorities by his Jewish brother Judas. (Judas was the only non Galilean of the 12. He was from the tribe of Judah and the name Judas is Greek for Judah)

16) Yeshua was sold for silver to the Sanhedrin who were Ishmaelites (Edomites) formerly forced to convert to Judiasm after the Maccabean revolt. King Herod was one of these forced converts and he filled the Sanhedrin with his own type.)

17) Yeshua was taken to Egypt to avoid being killed as an infant by King Herod I.

18) Yeshua offered not a word in his own defense.

19) Yeshua was stripped of his royal robe put on him by Herod.

20) Pilate like Potipher knew that Yeshua was innocent and that his accusers were men of low character. Pilate said, “I find no fault in him,” yet for political expediency, he detained him anyway just like Potipher imprisoned Joseph and protected his own image among Pharaoh’s court.

21) Like Joseph, Yeshua suffered at the hand of the gentiles (Romans) who mocked him, gave him 40 lashes, then crucified him. Jesus foretold this to his disciples in Matt 20. Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, 19And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

22) Yeshua won the respect of his captors tormentors. The Roman centurion who was in charge of the crucifixion said, “Surely this was a righteous man.” Luke 24:47

23) Yeshua’s robe was soaked in his own blood before he went to his Father. (and in Rev. 19 it says of Yeshua to come “And he was clothed with a vesture or garment dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God”)

24) The Jews allowed the Romans to take and crucify Yeshua and put Him in the earth.

25) Yeshua was “in the earth” for three days and nights in fulfillment of the sign of Jonah.

26) Yeshua was commissioned by God to Deliver his brothers and be a blessing to all and he went to prepare a place for us (mansion) to live in the new city of Jerusalem.

27) Yeshua had false witnesses coaxed forward by the council and the Sanhedrin.

28) Yeshua went to Hell (Joseph went to jail) with lawbreakers where he preached to lost spirits.

29) Yeshua proves he is full of the Spirit of God and that hears from God by his ability to know the unknowable, His good counsel and by performing the miraculous as witnessed by many.

30) Yeshua reveals there will be a time of plenty. Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” This time is known as “the time of the Gentiles.”

31) Yeshua warns of the coming judgment upon the earth or famine and urges everyone to prepare.

32) Yeshua called himself the bread of life and became the primary distributor of that bread to the perishing world and when they ate of His bread they were never again spiritually hungry.

33) The gentile Pharoah recognized there was none wiser or more discerning than Joseph, so he put him over all his kingdom. Today many gentiles and a remnant of Jews put Yeshua in charge of all.

34) Yeshua was hung between two thieves receiving the same punishment.

35) When the thief on the cross (the cupbearer) asked Yeshua not to forget him when he becomes King, Yeshua tells him this day you shall be with me in paradise.

36) Yeshua becomes the imprisoned chief cupbearer in that he drank the poison for us, however when He was restored, he did not forget us before His father the King. In Matt. 26:42 Yeshua speaks of his having to drink of the poison cup…”O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.”

37) One of the thieves with Yeshua is saved and the other perishes.

38) Yeshua sits at the right hand of the Father King.

39) All of Yeshua’s followers bow the knee to him. One day it is prophesied that every knee will bow to him when he is revealed in his glory.

40) Yeshua came into his ministry at age 30

41) Yeshua came as a servant and lived to be the chief servant of mankind. (Yeshua said as recorded in Matt 20:28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

42) Yeshua too has been given for the most part a Gentile bride. Though many believing Jews are part of Yeshua’s bride, it is the gentiles that mostly identify themselves with Yeshua as his bride.

43) Yeshua said, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. Yeshua also fed the physically hungry as he miraculously feed the 5000 with seven loaves and two fish.

44) Yeshua’s gifts and salvation were intended to bless and benefit his Jewish brothers first, but instead was used to bless and benefit the Gentiles first, but later the remnant of his Jewish brothers will be greatly blessed by Him.

45) Yeshua’s life was sacrificed because he was and is the plan of God.

46) Though Messiah ben Joseph is taking for Himself a predominately gentile bride, the prophet Daniel reveals that God has set aside one final seven year period near the last days, where He will again deal with the nation of Israel to bring them to repentance, and to the acknowledgement of Messiah be Joseph. (See Dan 9:24-27) And Jeremiah confirms Jer 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. It will be a time of severe famine in the land. This time, instead of food, it will be a severe shortage of spiritual food. A shortage of the word of God and it will bring the Jews to their knees.

47) The Jews were driven from their homeland of Israel into Egypt shortly after they rejected Joseph. The Jews, shortly after they rejected their Messiah ben Joseph …Yeshua in 70 A.D. were scattered all over the world in what is commonly known as the Diaspora.

48) Like Joseph, at first Yeshua’s brothers did not recognize him. They were expecting something else. His identity was hidden by the paradigm of their expectations. The prophet Ezekiel prophesying about Messiah, foretold this inability to see and understand 400 years earlier. 2“Son of man, you live in the midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see but do not see, ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.

49) Yeshua (Yahweh) deals roughly (who can deny that the Jews have been dealt with roughly) with his Jewish brothers to further soften and test their hearts before he reveals his true identity in his glory.

50) Yeshua gives his brothers a prerequisite before they see his face again. They must say blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. To do this, the Jewish people will have had to recognize and embrace Benjamin (the Church) as their true brother.

51) Yeshua will ask for the confession from the mouths of His Jewish brothers. Do they still believe in God their father. Do they accept the Church as their brothers.

52) Judah steps up and becomes the leader of the family. We will see in future history that the tribe of Judah becomes the largest and most prosperous. The Royal line of leadership will come out of Judah and they will become the spokesman for all of Israel in the latter days. Judah offers himself as the one who will take the blame if anything were to happen to Benjamin and Jacob (representing God) trusts Judah will do his all to protect Benjamin. It will be the sons of Judah, the Jews, that God will one day use as a representative for the children of Israel, and a son of Judah, Yeshua, will be called upon to take the blame for the sins of his people and all of mankind. (He did this by going to the cross)

53) Yeshua tests his brother’s hearts to see if they have changed. The primary action he watches for is how they respond to their brother Benjamin (The Church/Messianic Jews). The Church is a type of Benjamin, who to Joseph’s brothers was a type of Joseph, and both are a type of Messiah. The Church is conceived by the Holy Spirit and favored by our father. Though she (The Church) came last, she was born in the likeness of her older brother Yeshua the first man conceived by the Holy Spirit. Yeshua like Rachel died giving birth to this son, just as Rachel (her name means ewe or lamb and is a type of Christ) did when she bore Benjamin. All the other sons that were on the earth were the sons of Adam. When Joseph was born to Rachel she immediately anticipated another son and Joseph’s name reflected this. His name means let Him add another or a double portion. So this second son Benjamin was anticipated with the coming of the first son and is forever linked to Joseph and this second son The Church was anticipated by God and will ever be linked to Yeshua. Benjamin too was a type of Christ and his naming is a signal as to the two futures of the Messiah. He was first named Ben-Oni by his mother which means son of sorrow, but was renamed by his father Benjamin which is son of my right hand.

54) Yeshua reigns down blessings on the Church just as Joseph did to Benjamin at the feast. Though the Jews have been jealous of the blessings of God on the Church, we know from the story that one day the Jews will love and accept the Church as their brother. Yeshua predicts this and says that by the time He returns the Jews in Jerusalem will be saying of him, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. There are now over 300 Messianic Jewish congregations in Israel today who believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is their messiah. Yeshua’s prophesy is being fulfilled before our eyes. Ironically, it was the Benjamite Paul known as the Apostle Paul who brought in the huge influx of Gentiles into the Church.

55) Joseph calls Benjamin a son and asks for God’s grace for Him. Yeshua will be like a father to the church and He too will ask God’s grace or unmerited favor to be on the Church.
56) Judah finally gets it. We can no longer pretend we are innocent. We are all sinners before God. This is the message Yeshua and the early church preach to the world.

57) Like Joseph was eventually revealed and essentially came back into his brothers life, Yeshua was resurrected from the dead and will be revealed and come back to be the merciful and compassionate judge of his brothers.

58) Yeshua asks His Father while on the Roman cross to forgive them (his impenitent brothers) for they know not what they do and today he still saves all those who repent and turn to him.

59) Yeshua provides the same picture for us as Joseph. Though his brothers betrayed Him, though they bear responsibility for his crucifixion, he tells us that what his brothers meant for evil, God intended it for good to accomplish the saving of many lives.

60) Yeshua provides healing for the wound caused by his brothers and provides a means of reconciliation and restoration for his brothers and means of reconciliation and a rightful relationship with their Heavenly Father.

61) Yeshua responds the same way as Joseph did toward his brothers who recognize him for who he is, their LORD, and who show regret and remorse for what they have done to him. He does not seek slaves, but wants brothers. Though they wronged him, lied about him, beat him, crucified him, and dishonoured his memory, He weeps for those who carry that guilt, and instead of revenge, he promises forgiveness, reconciliation and assures he will love them and provide for them. It is blessings that come to the Jews who recognize him for who He is, their brother and their Messiah. The Jewish Pharisee Paul, who trained under the great Rabbi Gamaliel, writes regarding this time when the Jews recognize Jesus as their Lord. Romans 11:12 11 So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. 12 Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion[b] mean!

62) During Yeshua future reign it will not be the reign of a suffering servant like Messiah ben Joseph, but as reigning King as Messiah ben David. Like Joseph when he was exalted by Pharaoh, Yeshua will subdue all his enemies and they will become his footstool and He will become the sole owner of all things made. He will then turn over all things and himself to be in subjection to the Father so that the Father will be all in all in the same way as Joseph did for Pharaoh. Phil 2:9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Yeshua every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Yeshua Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Praise be the name of Yeshua!

Does he fit the other Messianic prophesies. The answer is YES to them ALL!!!

• He is born at precisely the time predicted by Daniel and Nehemiah during the first century before the destruction of the second Temple.

• He is praised from the Temple as he rides in humbly on a donkey as Zachariah predicted.

• He is preceded by a forerunner named John the Baptist who foretells his soon coming and tells others to prepare for him.

• As Isaiah predicted, He is born of a virgin in Bethlehem and as predicted by Micah he was born at Migdal Edar which is the watchtower of the sheep.

• He was born of the tribe of Judah and of the house of David.

• His life mirrored the life of Joseph.

• He was rejected as David predicted.

• He was pierced as Zacharias predicted.

• He was cut off and killed as Daniel predicted.

• Many will not believe he was the Messiah as Isaiah predicted, but for others he is their rock.

• He has been a stumbling block to both houses of Israel as Isaiah predicted.

• He was mutilated as Isaiah predicted, yet many Kings have not objected or resisted their people naming him as their King. I especially think of Napoleon who said, Jesus alone founded His empire upon love, and to this very day millions will die for Him

• As Zachariah predicted, the Messiah was struck down and his followers scattered.

Be not deceived any longer O Israel. O Judah, put your faith and trust in the true Messiah Yeshua ben Joseph. Some think it a requirement of God for Jews to convert Christianity. The real conversion has to do with accepting Yeshua as Messiah. The example that God gives the church is the example of Benjamin. It was Benjamin (the type symbolizing the church) that en-grafted itself into Judah. Become now the Judah you were destined to become…The Israel of God…The one who prevails with God.

I originally saw the idea for this post and upon further research I discovered others who had seen it too. I hope I have something valuable to the discussion and hope you will comment and add even more. Your comments are valued and the way I too learn from you. I would like to recognize Aurthur Pink and Geoffrey Neilson and Bob Schlenker, who I discovered in the process of this writing.
